...And we're live!

Getting a blog up and running was a more work than I thought it was going to be. At first, I explored hosted options like Ghost but I wanted to explore self hosted options before I committed to a paid service.

Then I tried looking for a self-hosted solution that offered rich text editing but felt that maybe a rich text editor was overkill for a blog.

I ended up landing on static site generators and out of Jekyll, Hugo, and Gatsby, I chose Hugo because of my familiarity with Go and because it had a nice theme that was easy to install.

I have been writing software professionally for the better part of a decade up and down the internet technology stack and I am excited to finally have a place to share my thoughts and experiences. I am also starting to branch out of pure software and into more hardware and electronics projects so I am excited to share those as well.
